User installation problems
1.  We have knowledge of only one hardware unit being faulty since sales     started. All other issues were either installation or software related
2. When installing the unit, it helps to follow the steps given in the User Manual or at least the quick start installation guide.
We found some users taking the unit from the packaging, connecting the USB cable to the PC and calling us to say the unit is on but the PC can’t see it. Asking a few easy questions and referring back to the manual or step by step instructions normally solves the issue.
3.  Installing the device driver for Windows first before connecting the unit is essential. Difficulties installing the driver software and seeing the unit virtual Comm port is mostly Windows software related. Installing Windows update software and the latest service packs eliminates most of these troubles. After all updates are done, Windows detects the unit and the automatic or recommended driver search normally finds the correct Windows driver for virtual Comm ports. It can also be installed from the CD.

Detecting the Comm port should now be easy. If not, disconnect the unit USB cable from the PC and restart the machine. Then connect the USB cable and switch the unit power on after the PC is up and running.
4.  The E-Logger unit will not be detected or function when using digital camera USB cables to connect instead of the USB cable provided inside the E-Logger packaging. Two users tried this and complained that the unit was working after first installation but not anymore.
We found the E-Logger unit being connected through their camera USB cable. Changing the cable to our USB cable solved the issue.  Important to use the accessories supplied with the unit, stated as such inside the User Manual.
